Francesco DeMarco

Francesco DeMarco lived in Painesville, Ohio, from 1931 until 1953, when he moved to Phoenix, Arizona.  In America Francesco DeMarco was known Frank DeMarco.

Francesco DeMarco, son of Luigi DeMarco and Francesca Pantalone, was born on July 7, 1899, at Francavilla al Mare, Chieti Province, Abruzzo, Italy.   Francesco was married to Mabel Thomas.   Francesco DeMarco died on October 31, 1955, at his home, 3133 North 33rd Street, Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona, at age 56.   His body was interred at St. Agnes Cemetery, Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona.

Francesco DeMarco emigrated from port of Naples, Napoli Province, Campania, Italy, on September 7, 1909, aboard the ship SS Virginia.   Francesco, age 10, first immigrated to the United States on September 21, 1909, at Ellis Island, port of New York City, New York. He was traveling with his mother and three brothers.   Francesco DeMarco’s final destination was London, Ontario Province, Canada. He was joining his father, Luigi DeMarco.

Francesco DeMarco is cited on a passenger ship manifest re-entering the United States on June 15, 1925, at port of Detroit, Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. His brother Vittorio DeMarco was travelling with Francesco.

Francesco DeMarco was enumerated for the 1940 Census of the United States, on April 25, 1940, living at 76 Kerr Avenue, Painesville, Lake County, Ohio, as a head of household.

Mr. DeMarco was a shoe repairman, owning a shop on North St. Clair Street.  In 1950, he opened DeMarco’s Golf Range on Richmond Road.

The only known child of Francesco DeMarco and Mabel Thomas is:

1.     Louis DeMarco was born circa 1932, at Ohio.   Louis married Marie Franciotti, daughter of Francesco Franciotti and Filipina Ingavo.
