Michele Cimaglio

Michele Cimaglio first appears in the Painesville, Ohio, area in the 1920’s. In America, Michele Cimaglio was known as Michael Cimalgio.

Michele Cimaglio, son of Angelo Cimaglio and Maria Antonia Pasquarelli, was born on September 24, 1914, at Casalciprano, Italy.  He married Angeline Manini, daughter of Antonio Manini and Giacinta DeLuca, on November 18, 1939.  Michele died on January 18, 2003, at Alter Care of Mentor, Mentor, Lake County, Ohio, at age 88.

Michele Cimaglio immigrated to the United States on February 18, 1921 at age 6.  He immigrated at the Port of Philadelphia.  He immigrated with his mother, and brother, Nicola Cimaglio.  They were joining Michele’s father in Willoughby, Ohio.  (Though information indicates they may have immigrated to Providence, Rhode Island.)  Michele Cimaglio became a citizen of the United States on March 3, 1941.  Michele resided at 477 Owego Street, Fairport Harbor, Lake County, Ohio, when he was naturalized. 

Michele’s father passed away in 1930 when he was 15 years old.

Mr. Cimaglio was employed by the Industrial Rayon Corporation from 1937 to 1977.
