Nunzio Battista

Nunzio Battista first appears in the Painesville, Ohio, area in 1907. 

Nunzio Battista, son of Pasquale Battista and Maria Angela Fortunata, was born on November 22, 1895, at Casalciprano, Italy.  He married Margaret Mary Cardina, daughter of Giuseppe Cardegna and Lucia Maria Amoruso, on April 7, 1921 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.  Nunzio died on February 18, 1964, at Lake County Memorial Hospital, Painesville, Lake County, Ohio, at age 68.  His body was interred at Riverside Cemetery at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.

Nunzio Battista, age 12, immigrated to the United States on November 24, 1907, travelling to 109 Storrs Street, Painesville, Lake County, Ohio, joining his father, Pasquale Battista.  He was travelling with his mother, Maria Angela Fortunata, sister, Lucia, and brother, Donato

Nunzio was retired from the Diamond Alkali Company where he was a millwright.

The children of Nunzio Battista and Margaret Mary Cardina were as follows:

1.  Paschal J. Battista was born on December 18, 1921, at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.  He married Norma E. Holson, daughter of Isaac Holson and Esther Mattson, on April 16, 1947 at Cardington, Morrow County, Ohio.  Paschal died on January 21, 2004, at his home, Madison, Lake County, Ohio, at age 82.  His body was interred at Evergreen Cemetery at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.  

2.  Joseph B. Battista was born on April 4, 1924, at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.  He married Georgia M. Carlton, daughter of Harry Smith Carlton and Elizabeth Pritchard, on May 8, 1946 at St Mary Catholic Church, Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.

3.  Anthony Battista was born on October 7, 1925, at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.  He married first, Joan Meister.  He married second, Theresa Simko. 

4.  Mary A. Battista was born about 1928, at Ohio.  She married John J. Lencse on October 7, 1950.
