Sabatino DiCamillo

Sabatino DiCamillo first appears in the Painesville, Ohio, area between 1907 and 1909.  In America, Sabatino DiCamillo was known as Tony DiCamillo.

Sabatino DiCamillo, son of Gilberto DiCamillo, was born about 1884, at Penne, Italy.  He immigrated to the United States on June 16, 1907, travelling to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He was joining a cousin in Philadelphia.  Sabatino was living in Painesville, Ohio, in 1909 when his brother, Achille DiCamillo, immigrated to the United States.

Sabatino DiCamillo was enumerated for the 1910 Census of the United States, on April 20, 1910, living at North State Street, Painesville, Lake County, Ohio, as a boarder of Felix Maselli.  Sabatino’s brother, Achille was also a boarder in the same household.  According to the 1910 census, Sabatino was employed as a laborer for a nursery.  Sabatino returned to Italy in 1912.  He re-enters the United States on January 26, 1916.  He was “returning” to Ashtabula, Ohio.

Achille and Sabatino DiCamillo were probably a cousin to Painesville Italian Nicola DiCamillo.
