Salvatore D’Aiello

Salvatore D’Aiello first appears in the Painesville, Ohio, area in 1907.  In America, Salvatore D’Aiello was known as Sam Daiello.

Salvatore D’Aiello, son of Gioacchino D’Aiello, was born in 1885, at Palermo, Sicily.  He married Girolama D’Aiello, daughter of Maria Arcuri, about 1908.  Salvatore died in 1960.  His body was interred at Riverside Cemetery at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.

Salvatore D’Aiello immigrated to the United States on June 10, 1907, travelling to Painesville, Lake County, Ohio, joining his brother-in-law, Ignazio Mansueto.  Salvatore was not married when he immigrated in 1907.  Salvatore D’Aiello is shown as  re-entering the United States on November 21, 1913, at the Port of New York City.  He was returning to Painesville, Lake County, Ohio, joining his cousin, Salvatore DiMaggio.  Salvatore’s wife and children joined him in Painesville in Painesville in 1915.  Salvatore D’Aiello, his wife, and their two oldest children, returned to Sicily in 1922.  Salvatore re-enters the United States on March 15, 1923, travelling to 527 State Street, Painesville, Lake County, Ohio, joining his cousin, Pietro DiMaggio.  His wife and children returned to Painesville in October, 1923.

The children of Salvatore D’Aiello and Girolama D’Aiello were as follows:

1.    Gioacchino D’Aiello was born on July 26, 1909, at Palermo, Sicily.  Gioacchino died on July 22, 1952, at Cleveland Clinic Hospital, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, at age 42, of acute pulmonary edema.  His body was interred at St. Mary Cemetery at Painesville Township, Lake County, Ohio.  In America, Gioacchino D’Aiello was known as Jack Daiello.

2.    Giuseppa D’Aiello was born on August 6, 1912, at Palermo, Sicily.  Giuseppa died in October, 1977, at age 65.    

3.    Elizabeth D’Aiello was born on December 24, 1915, at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.  Elizabeth died on June 26, 2007, at Wickliffe Country Place, Wickliffe, Lake County, Ohio, at age 91.  Her body was interred at All Souls Cemetery at Chardon Township, Geauga County, Ohio.

4.    Sam D’Aiello was born on April 21, 1917, at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.  Sam died on May 30, 2008, at LakeEast Hospital, Painesville, Lake County, Ohio, at age 91.  His body was interred at Riverside Cemetery at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.

5.    Joseph D’Aiello was born in 1919, at Ohio.  Joseph died in 1964.  His body was interred at Riverside Cemetery at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.

6.    Caterina D’Aiello was born on January 1, 1921, at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.  Caterina died on February 3, 1921, at 203 Elm Street, Painesville, Lake County, Ohio, of bronchial pneumonia.  Her body was interred at St. Mary Cemetery at Painesville Township, Lake County, Ohio.

7.    Anthony D’Aiello was born on December 21, 1921, at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.  He married Mary M. Grillo, daughter of Gioacchino Grillo and Giovanna Armetta, on June 14, 1947.  Antony died on July 30, 2004, at Richmond Heights Hospital, Richmond Heights, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, at age 82.  His body was interred at Riverside Cemetery at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.

8.    Charles D’Aiello was born on March 6, 1925, at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.  Charles died on April 26, 2004, at LakeEast Hospital, Painesville, Lake County, Ohio, at age 79.  His body was interred at Riverside Cemetery at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.
