Nicola Giancola

Nicola Giancola first appears at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio, between 1910 and 1917.  He migrated to Painesville from Conneaut, Ohio.  In America, Nicola Giancola was known as Nick Giancola.

Nicola Giancola, son of Michele Giancola, was born on Thursday, December 1, 1892, at Sant’Angelo in Grotte, Italy.

Nicola Giancola, and his brother, Francesco, immigrated to the United States on December 14, 1907.  Nicola was 15 years old.  They were travelling to Conneaut, Ashtabula County, Ohio and were joining a cousin in Ohio.

Nicola registered for the World War I Draft on June 5, 1917.  He was living at 633 North State Street, Painesville, Ohio.  Nicola was employed by E.M. Post.  Nicola Giancola was enumerated for the 1920 Census of the United States, on January 13, 1920, living at 147 Storrs Street, Painesville City, Lake County, Ohio, as a boarder of Antonio Elia.  He was employed by the Diamond Alkali Company in 1920.

Nicola Giancola is cited on a passenger ship manifest re-entering to the United States on March 30, 1922, at age 29, returning to his home at 147 Storr Street, Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.

Nicola Giancola apparently left Painesville sometime after 1922.  He does not appear in the 1930 Federal Census for Lake County, Ohio.  He may have migrated to Detroit, Michigan.
