Felice Preziuso

Felice Preziuso first appears in the Painesville, Lake County, Ohio, in 1902.  Felice lived in the United States from 1896 until 1899.  He returned to Italy in 1899.  When he returned to the United States in 1902, Painesville, Ohio, was his destination.  In America, Felice Preziuso was known as Felix A. Prezioso.

Felice Preziuso, son of Giovanni Antonio Preziuso and Caterina Mainella, was born on August 20, 1879, at Frosolone, Isernia Province, Molise, Italy.  He was baptized on his day of birth at Frosolone, Italy.  He married first, Giovanna DiBiase, daughter of Domenicantonio DiBiase and Domenica Paulucci, on December 9, 1890, at Frosolone, Italy.  Felice Preziuso was widowed on January 3, 1940, at Painesville, Ohio, by the death of his wife, Giovanna DiBiase.  Felice Preziuso married second, Maria Antonia Pasquarelli, daughter of Giovanni Pasquarelli and Angela Mezzanotte, on October 19, 1940, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.  Maria Antonia (Antoinette) Pasquarelli was the widow of Angelo Cimaglio.  Felice died on May 28, 1961, at Lake County Memorial Hospital, Painesville, Lake County, Ohio, at age 81.  His body was interred at St. Mary Cemetery at Painesville Township, Lake County, Ohio.

Felice Preziuso immigrated to the United States on August 18, 1896, at age 16.  He was travelling with his first cousin, Orazio Zampini.  Their destination was New York City.  They may have migrated to Painesville, Ohio, shortly after arriving in America.  Felice returned to Italy in 1899.  He is shown to re-entering the United States on March 31, 1902.   His destination was Painesville, Ohio.  Felice Preziuso became a citizen of the United States on March 26, 1903.  Felice again returned to Italy in 1904.  He re-entered the United States on March 16, 1911, at age 31, traveling to Painesville, Ohio.  He was joining his brother, Francesco Preziuso, in Painesville.

Felice returned to Italy in early 1920 in order to bring his wife to America.  Felice and Giovanna DiBiase immigrated to the United States together on July 6, 1920.

Felice Preziuso had three siblings who were Painesville Italians.  His brother Francesco Preziuso immigrated to Painesville in 1900.  Brother Nicola Preziuso immigrated in 1906.  His sister, Domenica Immacolata Preziuso (wife of Liborio Padula) immigrated in 1909.  Felice was probably related to other Painesville Italians Antonio Preziuso and Giovanni Preziuso.

Mr. Prezioso was a retired employee of the Diamond Alkali Company.

The children of Giovanna DiBiase and Felice Preziuso were as follows:

1.  Catherine R. Prezioso was born on January 21, 1921, at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.  She married Charles Long, son of Donato Longano and Maria Carlone Catherine died on February 22, 2010, at Burton Health Care Center, Burton, Geauga County, Ohio, at age 89.  Her body was interred at Saint Mary Cemetery at Painesville Township, Lake County, Ohio.

2.  John A. Prezioso was born on November 21, 1924, at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.  He first married Irene Kazsmer.  He married second, Audra Hightower.  John died on July 1, 2006, at his home, Painesville, Lake County, Ohio, at age 81.  His body was interred at Riverside Cemetery at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.

3.  Mayme Prezioso was born on December 8, 1925, at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.  She married Ben J. Pandora, son of Beranardo Pandora and Maria Loria, in 1947 at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.  Mayme died on January 10, 2008, at Jefferson Healthcare, Jefferson, Ashtabula County, Ohio, at age 82.  Her body was interred at St. Joseph Cemetery at Ashtabula, Ashtabula County, Ohio.
