Antonia DiIorio

Antonia DiIorio first appears in the Painesville, Ohio, area in the 1940’s.  In America, Antonia DiIorio was known by her married name, Antonia D’Abate.

Antonia DiIorio, daughter of Ferdinando DiIorio and Teresa DiIorio, was born on April 16, 1882, at Frosolone, Italy.  She married Domenicantonio D’Abate, son of Giuseppe D’Abate and Maria Donata DiMaria.  Antonia died on March 15, 1969, at Homestead Nursing Home, Painesville, Lake County, Ohio, at age 86.

Antonia DiIorio, age 30, and her son, Giuseppe D’Abate, immigrated to the United States on February 19, 1913, travelling to Monongah, West Virginia.  They were joining Antonia’s her husband, Domenicantonio D’Abate.

Mrs. D’Abate was widowed in 1935.  She was enumerated for the 1940 Federal Census living in Morgantown, West Virginia.  She moved to Painesville in the 1940’s to live with her daughter, Teresa D’Abate DiCarlo.

At the time of death, Antonia resided at 9108 Johnny Cake Ridge, Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.

The children of Antonia DiIorio and Domenicantonio D’Abate were as follows:

1.   Giuseppe D’Abate was born about 1910, at Frosolone, Italy.  He married Catherine Berolatti in 1938 at Monongalia, West Virginia.

2.  Teresa Mary D’Abate was born on December 25, 1913, at Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia.  She married Gaetano DiCarlo, son of Carmine DiCarlo, in 1932 at Monongalia County, West Virginia.  Teresa Mary died on March 6, 1990, at Florida at age 76.  Her body was interred at Florida.

3.   Fred D’Abate.

4.   Charles D’Abate.
