Giuseppe Belvedere

Giuseppe Belvedere first appears in the Painesville, Ohio, area in 1917.  He may have been in Painesville as early as 1913.  In America, Giuseppe Belvedere was known as Joseph Belvedere.

Giuseppe Belvedere, son of Donato Belvedere, was born on June 4, 1894, at Villarosa, Sicily.  Giuseppe died in 1918.  His body was interred at St. Mary Cemetery at Painesville Township, Lake County, Ohio.

Giuseppe Belvedere, age 18, immigrated to the United States on November 20, 1912.  He was travelling to Pennsylvania, joining his brother-in-law, Giacomo Maniscalco.  Giacomo Maniscalco was married to Giuseppe’s sister Rosa.  Giuseppe Belvedere may have been  related (by marriage) to Painesville Italian, Giacoma Maniscalco.

Giuseppe registered for the military draft for World War One on June 5, 1917, living at 627 North State Street, Painesville, Lake County, Ohio. He was single, and was employed by the Diamond Alkali Company.
