Maria Concetta Cerce

Maria Concetta Cerce first appears in the Painesville, Ohio, area in 1920.  In America, Maria Concetta Cerce was known as Clara Cere, then by her married name, Clara Colavecchio.

Maria Concetta Cerce, daughter of Vincenzo Flaviano Cerce and Filomena Tartaglia, was born on September 20, 1899, at Santa Croce Magliano, Italy.  She married Michele Colavecchio, son of Bartolomeo Colavecchio and Palma DiCristofaro, on January 24, 1920 at Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.  She died on January 30, 1984, at Geneva Memorial Hospital, Geneva, Ashtabula County, Ohio, at age 84.  Her body was interred at Riverside Cemetery at Painesville, Lake County, Ohio.

Maria Concetta Cerce immigrated to the United States on December 21, 1910, at age 11, travelling to Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.  She was accompanied by her mother.  They were joining her father, Vincenzo Cerce, in Cleveland. 

The children of Maria Concetta Cerce and Michele Colavecchio (both born at Ohio) were as follows:

1.    Pauline Colavecchio was born about 1921.  She married Nicholas R. Moretti, son of Dominic Moretti and Ida Comino, on June 26, 1947.  Pauline died on June 20, 1988.

2.    Florence Colavecchio was born about 1929.  She was married to James Dennis.
