Onofrio DiGati

Onofrio DiGati first appears in the Painesville, Ohio, area in 1900.

Onofrio DiGati was born on July 13, 1874, at Montemaggiore Belsito, Sicily.

Onofrio DiGati, age 25, immigrated to the United States on May 29, 1900, travelling to Buffalo, New York.  He was joining a brother in Buffalo.  Onofrio made a Declaration of Intent to become a citizen of the United States on November 6, 1900, at Lake County, Ohio.  Onofrio DiGati’s name appears on the Passenger Ship Manifest for his brother, Andrea DiGati, when  Andrea immigrated to the Unites States, on March 11, 1903.  Andrea was travelling to Painesville, Ohio.

Onofrio DiGati returned to Sicily in 1903.  He returned to the United States on May 11, 1904.  He was returning to Painesville, Ohio.

Onofrio may have been related to other Painesville Italians:  Charles DiGati, Carmello Diate, or Angela DiGati (wife of Filippo Pace).
