Cosmo Cardegna, son of Giuseppe Cardegna and Annantonia Colavecchio, was born on April 10, 1852, at Frosolone, Isernia Province, Molise, Italy. He was baptized on April 11, 1852 at Santa Pietro Apostolo Chiesa, Frosolone, Isernia Province, Molise, Italy. Cosmo married Felicia DiCristofaro, daughter of Nicola DiCristofaro and Maria Nicola Palangio, on August 6, 1881, at Santa Nicola Chiesa, Frosolone, Isernia Province, Molise, Italy.
Cosmo Cardegna immigrated to the United States on March 16, 1894, at age 41. Cosmo entered the United States at the Port of New York City aboard the ship SS Kronprinz Frederick Wilhelm. He probably migrated to Painesville, Ohio, shortly after immigrated to the United States. Cosmo returned to Italy in 1900.
Cosmo Cardegna is cited on a passenger ship manifest re-entering the United States on July 12, 1903, at age 51, travelling to Painesville, Lake County, Ohio. He was re-joining his brother, Nicandro Cardegna, in Painesville. Cosmo entered the United States at the Port of New York City aboard the ship SS Liguria.
Cosmo’s son, Giuseppe Cardegna, immigrated to the United States in 1901 when Cosmo was back in Italy. Cosmo probably returned to Italy before 1910. He may have permanently returned to Italy in 1909 when his son temporarily returned to Italy. Cosmo’s brothers, Nicardro Cardegna and Filippo Cardegna also lived in Painesville.

3. Pasquale was born on July 15, 1886, at Frosolone, Isernia Province, Molise, Italy.
4. Anna Cardegna was born on March 23, 1888, at Frosolone, Isernia Province, Molise, Italy. She died on her day of birth.
